Implementing and Supporting Moodle as a Central Course Management System
With the successful piloting of Moodle at York University, Moodle is now being supported centrally as an alternative to WebCT. From initial setup and implementation with existing systems, to the transferring of current WebCT courses to Moodle, this presentation we'll look at both technological and pedagogical challenges in adopting Moodle as a centrally supported CMS, these would include intergrating moodle with ldap for authentication and course enrolment. We will also cover some of our trials and tribulations over the lifetime of the project.
Neal Stephenson, Manager, Development Services, York University Neal Stephenson has been involved in computing since the Late 80's when he purchased his Radio Shack Model I, since then he has never been far from computing. Neal is a manager of a software development group at York University and has developed numerous applications including an identity management system. Most of his work revolves around integrating technologies into the University architecture. | |
