OpenKomodo, the development environment for the Open Web
ActiveState recently announced the open sourcing of Komodo, a development environment aimed at dynamic languages. What will it be, why are we doing it and how will we get there? More importantly, how can you help? Community is important to the success of this project, we want to work with people interested in open source to ensure OpenKomodo becomes a healthy part of the open source community.
Shane Caraveo, Komodo Lead, ActiveState Shane is the chief dragon-wrangler for Komodo, an IDE developed in XUL, JavaScript and Python, on top of the Mozilla code base. With one foot in the world of dynamic languages, the other in more obscure efforts like writing debugger protocols or NPAPI plugins, he's always tackling big bad ugly problems that would give many people bald spots. In years past, he worked extensively on PHP, making major contributions such as the port to Windows, the SAPI architecture and early SOAP implementations. |
