CreativeCommons and the Public Domain

The talk will introduce attendees to the Canadian Public Domain Registry. This ground-breaking project – the most comprehensive of its kind in Canada – will create an online, globally searchable catalogue of published works that are in the Canadian public domain. Audience feedback is most welcome.

Marcus Bornfreund, Co-Director, Creative Commons, Canada Marcus Bornfreund is a Co-Director of Creative Commons Canada, a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the founder of LawShare.ca: a collaborative online platform for legal professionals. Marcus has recently returned to his native Toronto, where his law practice focuses on helping individuals and small companies understand and manage their intellectual property.
