About FSOSS

 

At Seneca College, we think free and open source software are real alternatives. Seneca College’s Centre for Development of Open Technology (CDOT) and the School of Information and Communications Technology is proud to present the 10^th anniversary of the Free Software and Open Source Symposium (FSOSS). Over two days, we bring together developers, educators, industry, the user community and other interested parties to discuss open source, open web and academic/industry partnerships.

 

Last year's FSOSS event was a great success and had wide participation from various sectors. Help make this year’s FSOSS even greater as we celebrate our 10th^th anniversary!

 

 

Who Will Attend

 

The symposium expects 200+ people, including IT professionals, high profile Open Source developers, thought leaders, movers and shakers, educators, students and those interested in being introduced to open source. These delegates play a key role in influencing the Open Source community and the IT field.

 

Notable organizations participating in past FSOSS symposiums include Mozilla, Novell, Apple, Red Hat Inc., Microsoft Canada, IBM Canada, Sun Canada, ATI, EDS Canada, Electronic Frontier Foundation, OpenOffice.org, Bank of Montreal, CIBC, RBC Financial Group and the National Research Council.
