I am a graduate of Math/Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and an avid Linux enthusiast since the age of 15 or so. I've also been programming in one way or another since I was 9. I've made small contributions to OSS projects, including the Python standard libraries. My development experience is varied, ranging from embedded compiler development, embedded OS development, bioinformatics data analysis, web/database application programming, and systems development.
My interests include dynamic language compilation and optimization, distributed algorithm design, and distributed system design.
I am making this presentation on behalf of my employer GridCentric Inc. - a Canadian startup created by the researchers that designed the Snowflock live-cloning virtualization technology.
