This year’s theme for FSOSS is “30 Years of Freedom”. We are looking for presentations and talks that explore those past 30 years and the benefits that being free and open have brought to the technological world around us. . Whether you use open source, contribute to a project or work for a business that relies on open source, we have an audience interested in what you have to say. We need talks for neophytes and veterans alike. Talks at a variety of technical depths are welcome.
You could, for example:
- show us how to use a piece of open source software you love
- talk about how you decided which open source license you used
- recount your entry into an open source community
- discuss the pitfalls and benefits of making a living with open source
- explain how to land a patch
- show us the code you are working on
- wow us with your kewl open source tech
- or anything related you can think of!
Presentations/workshops will be selected by the symposium committee, and you will be notified as soon as a decision has been made. If your proposal is accepted, you do not have to register for the symposium or pay the registration fee. Please note that we cannot defray the costs of travel/accommodation/etc for presenters. If you have any questions/comments about presentations or this form, please email fsoss-cfp@senecacollege.ca
